July 2, 2015 Rusatom - International Network will hold a seminar on modern Russian nuclear technologies and the newest solutions in the nuclear industry, which will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Workshop, which is composed of four sessions, will be devoted to the Russian experience in application and development of nuclear technologies and solutions. Among presentations there are reports on ROSATOM 's competitive advantages in the international market, integrated proposal for the construction of NPPs, the newest solutions used by ROSATOM in the engineering and NPP construction, financing, as well as opportunities for cooperation in the field of uranium mining and processing, fuel supplies, service maintenance of the infrastructure facilities, radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel management, decommissioning. In addition, there will be presentation of Russian solutions in the use of radiation technologies, water treatment and purification, personnel training, public acceptability activities carried out by ROSATOM etc.
Heads and representatives of leading companies and institutions of Argentinian nuclear industry, including the Nucleoelectrica Argentina SA, Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina, ARN, INVAP, Corporaci?n America, Engineering Faculty of the University of Buenos Aires are planning to take part at the workshop. Representatives of CNEA and NA-SA will present actual information about the Argentinian national nuclear program and current technical requirements for nuclear technologies in the field of construction of new nuclear power plants in the country.

On 23rd of April 2015, the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of Argentina had signed the Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a Framework for Cooperation between the parties in the field of construction the 6th power unit with water-cooled energetic reactor (VVER) of Russian design with installed capacity to 1,200 MW on the territory of the Republic of Argentina. Furthermore, the fuel company TVEL signed two Memorandum of Understanding with the National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina and the State Corporation of Rio Negro province (Republic of Argentina) INVAP. These documents provide for a broad cooperation and joint initiatives on a wide range of issues of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy, including deliveries of low-enriched uranium fuel and its components for the research and power reactors in Argentina, supplies of TVEL-manufactured zirconium components of the nuclear fuel cycle, and joint research and development projects.
Agreements on cooperation are implemented in order to develop signed on July 12, 2014 Intergovernmental Agreement on the peaceful uses of atomic energy. This Agreement was signed during the official visit of Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, to Argentina and it found a basis for wide range of cooperation between the parties. On 1st March, 2015, the Argentina’s President Cristina Kirchner delivered her annual speech at the opening of the Congress' ordinary session, where she announced the Government’s intention to cooperate with Russia.
The contract for the regular supplies of the Russian Mo-99 to Argentina was concluded on 26 of May 2013. On June 12 of 2013 the first delivery of Mo-99 was made under this contract, now deliveries are made weekly.
On June 19, 2014 a Memorandum of Cooperation between the " Rusatom International Network " and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Buenos Aires was signed, involving the cooperation of the parties in the implementation of joint projects in the field of science and education, as well as potential business projects. Cooperation between Rosatom and the Faculty of Engineering, which began in 2013, has allowed to realize an international competition among senior students and graduates for the best project on the theme of peaceful use of atomic energy and to organize a series of technical tours to enterprises of the nuclear industry in Russia.
