On May 31, 2016 at the VIII International Forum "ATOMEXPO-2016" there will be held a briefing with Valery V. Karezin, Educational Projects Director of ROSATOM, and Oleg V. Nagornov, the 1st Vice-rector of the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI".

They will talk about approaches to personnel E&T planning for the Partner Countries, the prospects for nuclear education development and experiences of different countries in the formation of human resources for the nuclear industry. Particular emphasis will be placed on examples of successful cooperation in higher education for the education and training of young specialists and building a system of nuclear knowledge in the newcomer country.

As part of the briefing, journalists accredited for participation in the exhibition will be able to ask speakers questions of interest on the personnel E&T for the nuclear industry – announced plans of cooperation by ROSATOM and MEPhI with foreign partners, the challenges facing the newcomer countries, cross-university exchange of experience, training programs for professionals, the status of cooperation with specific countries, and others.

The topic of education and training is one of the most important areas of the nuclear power program in any country. Particular importance it has for the newcomer country, which at the time of the launch of the national nuclear program does not have the appropriate educational capacities and adequate competences and, as a consequence, is not able to prepare the personnel reserve. To resolve this issue, ROSATOM has developed an integrated approach of industry personnel evolution of the Partner Country, which is based on the training of various categories of personnel through several levels of training. This approach is implemented in collaboration with the Consortium of Rosatom supporting universities chaired by MEPhI and with the Consortium of Rosatom subsidiaries to train NPP personnel.

The event will take place on May 31 (11: 30-12:00) in the press center of the exhibition (Gostiny Dvor, Moscow, Ilinka Str., 4).
