Russia's Balakovo nuclear power plant has received a licence to extend its operating life by 30 years to 18 December 2045.
Rosenergoatom, operator of all the country's civil nuclear power plants, has spent Rub9 billion ($127 million) over the past nine years on work to upgrade the plant in order to qualify for the licence.
