Ivan Kamenskikh

Background

Ivan Kamenskikh was born on February 3, 1946 in Ochyor, Perm Krai. In 1970, he graduated from the Perm Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Engineering, began his career as a design engineer, and later was appointed First Deputy Chief Engineer at the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics (VNIITF) in Snezhinsk, Chelyabinsk Region. In 2000, Mr Kamenskikh was appointed Deputy Minister of Atomic Energy. He held the position for four years before taking the office of Deputy Director and then Acting Director of the Federal Agency for Atomic Energy. Mr Kamenskikh's career with ROSATOM includes serving as Deputy CEO in 2008–2010 and Director of the Nuclear Weapons Directorate in 2010–2011. Since April 2011 he has served in his current position of First Deputy CEO for Nuclear Weapons.
