Unit 4 of Russia's Beloyarsk nuclear power plant has generated its first 1 TWh of electricity, Rosenergoatom announced on 10 June.

The 789 MWe BN-800 fast neutron reactor achieved first criticality in June 2014 and was connected to the grid in December 2015. The reactor - which is expected to generate some 3.5 TWh in 2016 - is currently undergoing operational tests and checks and is scheduled to enter commercial operation in late 2016.
